Winter nights at the five venues
Winter, December to February by the guide's rule, changes the trip and not the venues, which keep the same published hours all year. This page answers its questions with published facts: where to park under cover, how to get home late and where to sleep nearby.

Parking under cover
Arriving at Club Regent Casino, the question is where the car goes. Parking is free in the casino parkade, which connects to the Canad Inns hotel. For the Event Centre there are 900 covered spots free to attendees, plus overflow outdoor parking. A skywalk and elevator lead from the parkade to the venue.
Downtown, the Shark Club Gaming Centre sits on the 2nd floor of Cityplace, which publishes its own parking lots. Cityplace Lot 1, at 266 Hargrave St, is covered and open 24/7, with skywalk access. Lot 4, at 215 Hargrave St, is a heated indoor parkade on floors 3 and 4, with indoor access to Cityplace. It is closed on weekends, except to monthly parkers and for events. Lot 3, at 190 Donald St, is an uncovered surface lot, open 24/7.
Elsewhere the published list is short. McPhillips Station Casino lists accessible parking for guests with limited mobility, and nothing more. Assiniboia Downs, home of the Club West Gaming Lounge, and South Beach Casino & Resort publish no covered parking.
There and back without the car
Without a car, the published options start at Club Regent Casino. Winnipeg Transit stop 40174, Westbound Regent at Club Regent, is served by route FX3, Regent-Grant. The stop has a heated shelter, express service downtown in peak periods and connections at Kildonan Place. Cityplace, home of the Shark Club Gaming Centre, counts dozens of Winnipeg Transit connections within one block.
For the ride home, staff at Club Regent and McPhillips Station Casino may request a taxi or Handi-Transit. The guide lists no route for McPhillips Station or the Club West Gaming Lounge at Assiniboia Downs. It found no public transit service to South Beach Casino & Resort.
Downtown, the way in shifts with the clock. The Cityplace skywalks are open 6:30am to 10:30pm, seven days a week, and closed on stat holidays. The Hargrave Street entrance stays open 6:30am to 3:00am; after mall hours, take the escalator to the second floor. When the night ends
Near the end of the night, Club Regent Casino and McPhillips Station Casino close at 5 AM after Friday and Saturday and at 3 AM after other days. Their live tables stop at 3 AM every day, so after Friday and Saturday the floors stay open to 5 AM without them. South Beach Casino & Resort closes at 3 AM. Its live tables close at 2 AM after Thursday, Friday and Saturday and at 1 AM after Sunday, and do not open Monday to Wednesday. The Shark Club Gaming Centre closes at 1 AM, tables included, as does Club West Gaming Lounge at Assiniboia Downs, which has no tables.
For a late meal, Toukies Restaurant & Bar at Club Regent serves to 1:00 am on Friday and Saturday. Snacks & Drinks at McPhillips Station is open daily to 2:00 am. South Beach keeps the Blue Dolphin Bar open to 2:00 am daily and its lobby café open 24/7. Hours are Central Time, and the closing-time check on this page answers for any day and hour.

Coats and bags
At the door, coats go to the coat check at Club Regent Casino or McPhillips Station Casino. Bags cannot be left there, and neither casino has lockers for guests. Any bag is limited to 14 x 14 x 6 inches at the Casinos of Winnipeg, and all bags may be searched.
Stepping out for a cigarette means stepping outside. Smoking and e-cigarettes are not allowed indoors at Club Regent, and the designated smoking areas are outside the Event Centre entrance.
A bed instead of the drive
A room can replace the drive home. The Canad Inns Destination Centre Club Regent Casino Hotel, at 1415 Regent Ave W, is attached to Club Regent Casino; booking line 1-888-332-2623. McPhillips Station Casino has no hotel on site. Its Stay & Play packages use partner hotels, among them Canad Inns Club Regent and Super 8 Winnipeg East and West. Assiniboia Downs names a Motel 6 in Headingley, and the guide lists no hotel for the Shark Club Gaming Centre.
South Beach Casino & Resort has its own hotel of 93 rooms. Check-in is after 4 pm, check-out at 12 noon, and pets are not allowed. The South Beach Café in the hotel lobby is open 24/7.
On the way out to the lake, the address is 1 Ocean Dr., Scanterbury, on Highway 59 near Lake Winnipeg. In a straight line it is 63.2 km from Winnipeg City Hall, not a driving distance. The guide found no public transit service there. South Beach lists bus day tours from Winnipeg operators and overnight packages from Winnipeg, rural Manitoba, Saskatchewan and Kenora. It publishes no casino shuttle; its tour bus coordinator answers at 1-204-766-3112.
